Ciarra Smith

Ciarra and her husband spent three years as foster parents, where they witnessed firsthand the brokenness and unmet needs within the child welfare system. As house parents, they saw sibling groups hoping to stay together but with too few homes available, biological families fighting to keep their families together with little to no resources, and foster families asking for “overcapacity” waivers just to make room for one more child.

As a biological and adoptive mother, Ciarra felt called to find more ways to serve families, which led her to The Hands and Feet. Originally starting out as an administrative assistant she now serves as the organization's Director of Finance, managing a budget of over $1 million. This role brings in her self taught expertise of finance and making sure that Hands and Feet is sustainable long term.

Ciarra believes every family deserves access to the necessities needed to care for vulnerable children and is grateful to be part of a team making that possible. Being able to serve a cause so close to her heart is truly a dream come true.
